Matt Hales is a woodworking genius, sharing a large East Van studio with other talents such as Christian Woo. He attended the world-renowned Inside Passage School of Woodworking, on BC's Sunshine Coast, when results of his first forays into furniture design received rave reviews - mine included - reflecting a yen that couldn't reasonably be ignored. I'm a lucky girl getting one of his handmade chopping boards as a recent gift - even running my hands over its luxurious surface is a treat... and just having a set of his simple-yet-perfectly-smooth wooden coasters in my home makes me happy. Below is one of his first major creations; check out his website for more: http://www.matthaleswoodwork.com/.
Sedge (a Brit. var.) is me; Planet Sedge denotes both a microcosm within and an interstellar connection to that larger entity... in whose spheres i set my sights on forging ever-beneficial functions, formulated largely from my frontal lobe (and what's most frantic to be freed therefrom) - unconstrained by excesses of organization (ha!) : Mostly this consists of causes/topics closest to my heart (animal rights, community concerns, environment, First Nations rights, Heritage preservation, wilderness/wildlife protection) via articles, letters, notices ETC. - including relevant links + other useful ways to GET iNVOLVED: i.e. ACTiVATE.. (oh, & i've included a review - of Memoir - so-you-know..) Kay, call me!
